UpCare Clinics will work directly with your insurance carrier to determine your level of coverage for the medication. But please note that the overall program is cash only. Also please note that those with health care provided through the government, such as Medicare and TRICARE, are not eligible for the program, as these plans will not cover the cost of the medication. However, federal employees participating in FEHB are eligible. 

Program participation requires testing things like hemoglobin, cholesterol, creatine, and blood urea nitrogen. This testing is very important in determining how well your body breaks things down. Price will depend on the testing method. If you have insurance, you can go to any Quest location to have testing done. You may also purchase an at-home testing kit through UpCare Clinics if you’d like. 

The monthly cost of these medications without insurance is between $900 and $1600. If you cannot pay for it out of pocket, you unfortunately may have to reconsider program membership.

Following your initial visit, you may be asked to complete a metabolic test. It all depends on the patient.

As part of the program, Ozempic or Wegovy (semaglutide) may be prescribed. These drugs act like GLP-1 in your body, helping it regulate sugar metabolism and appetite. The following are some common side effects, which typically subside within the first few weeks of treatment.
